When Pain Has Taken Over More Than Your Body

It’s been years. You’ve had the injections, the scans, maybe a surgery. Sleep is broken, work is harder, and the depression that crept in makes the pain worse. Some doctors have hinted it’s psychological.

Long-term pain changes sleep, mood and the nervous system, and those changes keep the pain going. Treating one without the others rarely lasts. We start by finding out what’s driving your pain, then treat all of it.

Our pain program is built for people who:

  • Have lived with pain for months or years despite outpatient treatment
  • Are dealing with depression, anxiety or poor sleep alongside the pain
  • Have neuropathic pain, fibromyalgia, back pain or pain after surgery
  • Feel dismissed, or were told the pain is in their head
  • Want a medically supervised review of everything they’re taking

What the Pain Program Includes

Every plan is built from your evaluation. Depending on your results, your program may include:

  • Pain medicine
  • Treatment for chronic pain and depression

  • Sleep
  • A careful medication review
  • Somatic and pain-coping work

Questions Families Ask

Will I be forced off my pain medication?

We start with a careful review of your medications. Any changes are made with you, under medical supervision, and with your safety first. Call us and we’ll walk you through how it works.

Can you treat chronic pain and depression at the same time?

Yes. Long-term pain changes sleep, mood and the nervous system, and those changes keep the pain going. We treat pain and depression together on one plan.

Will you say my pain is psychological?

No. Your pain is real. We start by finding out what’s driving it, with medical, pain, psychiatric and neuropsychological assessments, then treat all of it.

How long is the program?

The full evaluation is the first part of the program, in one stay. Treatment length after that depends on what we find. Call us and we’ll walk you through the options.

What happens after I send the form?

An admissions specialist from J. Flowers calls you back from (713) 715-1618. The call is confidential and there’s no sales pitch. They listen, answer your questions, and tell you plainly if we’re not the right fit. Nothing is booked.
